Call for expression of interest for design and supervision of building projects
On behalf of the Federal German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing the ‘Support to Municipalities’ Program in Libya. The Program is co- funded by the European Union through the Trust Fund for North Africa (EUTF). The Program is being implemented in collaboration with the GNA Libyan Ministry of Local Government (MOLG) and it is targeting 17 municipalities in Libya.
The overall objective of the GIZ project is to strengthen the municipal administrations and improving basic public services and facilities, as well as local economic development. In line with the aims of the Program, GIZ is constantly engaged in a variety of construction, development and rehabilitation works, including for example, but not limited to: women training centers, football pitch project rehabilitations and renovations, solar water pumping systems supplying and installation, sold & waste management etc.
The call for the expression of interest is for the design and supervision of building projects in the Municipalities of al-Sharqia, Garabulli, Zleten, Tawerga and Misrata.
The concerned building projects are:
-in Garabulli, Zleten, Tawerga and Misrata: rehabilitation of buildings to be destined to Woman Training Centers. The design will focus in rehabilitating the spaces in order to offer the standards of comfort and accessibility for the future users. Works will consist in (but not exclusively): design and installation of new facilities and toilets, demolishing and erecting of new walls, planning and installation of new windows and new doors, refurbishment and maintenance of the existing electrical system.
-in al-Sharqia: planning and supervision of a solar pumping system in the two cities of Majdol and Tmassah. The systems should be planned in relation to the existing survey on the daily need of water in both cities. In line with the experience of the company, it would be possible that in this specific context, the company will also be in charge of the implementation of the system. This will consist in (but not exclusively): installation of the motors and the pumps, including controller with Data Module, installation of all the technical
operating and controlling tools for the smooth functioning of the pumping units, installation of survey protector devices (in each villages) to protect the pump accessories from voltage spikes, building up and installation of the solar panels, including the solar mounting units.
The GIZ is looking for interested companies which are registered in the above-mentioned municipalities and are operating in a radius of 100 km around the named cities, which are able to design and provide supervision of the building sites on the above-mentioned projects.
For an expression of interest, the companies are requested to fill the form A12.
